How Many Boxes Fit on a Pallet?
Boxes per pallet is not just pallet area divided by box area. Whole-number fit, orientation, loaded height and gross weight determine the practical count.

Start with cartons per layer
Divide the pallet length by box length and the pallet width by box width, round each result down and multiply. Repeat with the box rotated 90 degrees. Use the higher whole-number result.
Calculate usable layers
Subtract the pallet's own height from the maximum loaded height, divide by carton height and round down. This gives the maximum full layers for a simple column stack.
Check the gross-weight limit
Multiply carton weight by the geometric box capacity and add the pallet tare. If the result exceeds the safe or contractual gross limit, reduce the carton count until weight is compliant.
Stability still matters
A mathematically dense pattern can be operationally poor. Product crush strength, column alignment, interlocking, stretch wrap, center of gravity and overhang rules can reduce the safe count.
